Apple is developing an always-on display mode for Apple Watch, a new patent application reveals.
The feature would give users the ability to see the time — and possibly other information — without having to raise their wrist every time. But Apple wants to make sure OLED burn-in doesn’t become a problem.

A large-scale study into heart health among Apple Watch owners is coming to an end, with Apple informing some users who signed up that their contribution is now complete.
The study took the form of an app, previously open to all Apple Watch owners in the U.S., 22-years and older, with a Series 1 or above. Called Apple Heart Study, the initiative was a collaboration between Apple and Stanford Medicine. It launched in November 2017.

An image of Apple’s next wearable leaked today, revealing an impractical new Apple Watch face that crams in every possible type of notification all at once.
It has no less than nine different complications. And, oh yes, the time.
Apple’s big fall event will take place at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park on September 12.

Apple is helping fans support and enjoy America’s national parks with a new Apple Pay donation program and Apple Watch Activity Challenge.
Apple will donate $1 to the National Park Foundation every time Apple Pay is used in its stores, on Apple.com, or in the Apple Store app between August 24 and August 31. It will also reward Watch wearers with special badges for completing National Park events.

Apple has removed a bunch of Apple Watch bands from its online store while many others are sold out ahead of its annual September event.
It seems likely Apple will introduce new band designs and styles alongside Apple Watch Series 4 this fall. Regulatory filings for the new wearable all but confirm a new model is imminent.
It’s highly likely that we’ll see new Apple Watch Series 4 devices at next month’s Apple media event, and a new series of filings suggest that this is even more probable.
Filed with the Eurasian Economic Commission are six new model numbers for next-gen Apple Watches, all of which will run watchOS 5. While that doesn’t tell us too much about the new devices, it does suggest that they are on the way.

Apple fans in NYC eager to visit the company’s first ever pop-up shop in The Big Apple are going to be in for a rude surprise when they show up to the doors tomorrow morning.
A new store has popped up in the Big Apple this week promising to provide a taste of the future. The logo and font on the outside is minimalist and very Apple-esque, but instead of selling limited editions iPhones or Apple Watches, the shops are promoting actual apples.
